About the Conference:
A Letter from the Conference Organizer
Dear Esteemed Colleagues, Educational Professionals, and Montessori Enthusiasts,
With the profound belief that education is not merely a method but a cultural mission, I, along with the Organizing Committee of the Asian Montessori Conference 2025, extend a sincere invitation for you to join us at this extraordinary event. It is a place where we will collectively explore and cultivate an educational foundation deeply rooted in national cultural identity. Dr. Maria Montessori once stated, "Culture and education have no bounds or limits; now man is in a phase in which he must decide for himself how far he can proceed in the culture that belongs to the whole of humanity."
In this spirit, the Asian Montessori Conference 2025, themed "Integrating National Culture into Montessori," is organized with the aspiration to make national cultural elements an integral part of children's education.
Why a Conference on Culture?
We firmly believe that while the Montessori method originated in Europe, its application in Asia, a continent rich in diverse and distinctive cultures, necessitates the integration of national elements into education. Culture is not confined to stories, costumes, or festivals; it is the means by which we nurture the souls of children, helping them develop personal identity, national pride, and a deep connection to their roots.
A child with strong cultural roots is akin to a tree nourished by its native soil—with deep roots, the tree can grow tall and spread its branches wide. Montessori education respects the natural development of children, and this becomes even more meaningful when we assist them in absorbing national cultural values naturally and profoundly from their earliest years.
Aspirations for the Conference
This conference will not only gather leading Montessori educators but also serve as an open forum for exchanging, researching, and practicing effective ways to incorporate national culture into the Montessori method.
Our aspirations include:
-
Connecting the Montessori community across Asia to share innovative ideas and best practices.
-
Creating a practical learning environment with presentations, experiential activities, and educational models.
-
Inspiring each teacher and school to discover their unique ways of preserving and promoting national cultural values in Montessori education.
-
Honoring outstanding initiatives in integrating culture into education through competitions and prestigious awards.
The Asian Montessori Conference 2025 is intended not only for Montessori educators but also for anyone concerned with the future of education, cultural identity, and the holistic development of children. We believe that when every child carries pride and a connection to their roots, they will become "Cultural Ambassadors"—global citizens firmly grounded in their national identity.
We eagerly anticipate welcoming you to the Conference!
